| Favourite film: |
I like British/Irish comedy and action films. Fav films

| Favourite music : |
Anything by Paul Weller. I could listen to almost
anything, but due to nostalgia I've gone back to 70s &
80s. Current CD playing in the car is Electronic 80s. |
Past:
I started my working life in household removals with my dad at
the age of 14. The business was destroyed in 1981 due to the
then big recession. We migrated from removals to haulage
which meant everybody in the household needed to get a HGV class
1. At the age of 21 I got my HGV licence and spent the next
few years driving all over England, Ireland, Spain, Portugal,
France, Belgium and Holland. I really enjoyed this experience
even though living like a gypsy in a truck isn't everybody's idea
of career satisfaction.
Present:
I progressed my career from being a driver into company
management in 1994. I very quickly learnt how cruel business
can be at the coal-face. Regardless, I am now the Operations
Director and now just as much as before am in "awe" of the whole
transport industry. At the age of 42, when I look back upon
my experience, I am pleased to say that I would not change a
thing. I have worked with great people and had excellent
mentors and would like to thank; my late dad, my Mom, Des (my
brother), John (my cousin) and Brian (more than a friend for 30yrs)
- and my wife Helena.
