Our Swedish Customer run a distribution operation out of Kent for onward delivery to Mainland UK and both Northern and Southern Ireland. They delivered their product by ship into a third party warehouse in Kent for onward distribution. Historically they had sourced all of their transport through the third Party warehouse keeper.

We were given the opportunity to analyse the operation and produce a report showing the current situation and any savings which could be made. We highlighted that the basic solution in place was correct although overpriced. We put a system in place whereby we utilised the vehicles operated by Sister Companies, their own Customer vehicles and our suppliers. Through these changes we showed them a saving on UK deliveries of 8.5% and Irish of 17%.

As well as making savings, service levels have improved and we have reduced empty running and the carbon footprint.
